Dr. Donald Hales
For nearly four decades, Dr. Hales has worked as a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in spinal surgery. After obtaining his Doctor of Medicine degree from Johns Hopkins University, he was admitted into a surgical internship at UCLA Medical Center. He remained at that institution for several years as an orthopaedic surgical resident, a Fellow in spine surgery, and an Assistant Clinical Professor.
Dr. Hales served as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Midwestern School of Osteopathic Medicine before joining the staff at Northern Arizona Orthopaedics. In addition to improving the lives of hundreds of patients through surgery, he engaged in primary research and authored four important industry publications. He has also spoken and presented extensively.
Dr. Hales has held licenses to practice in four states and served as a Fellow with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Back Society. While he loves to stay active with outdoor activities and musical performance, his first priority is his wife, children, and grandchildren.
